Hotz was conjured from Hitler's eyelash by the elders of Zion in Toronto and at age seven, was sent to film camp where he violently molested his counselors and directed his first film. "I wanted to kill them, but decided it would be better for me if they lived with the nightmares of my deviant assaults."
Kenny began making documentaries in 1989. His first effort featured a "loser" friend, not Spenny, another loser. "Exploiting the less fortunate was the inception of KENNY VS. SPENNY. The original title was 'KENNY VS. RETARD' but I had to change it because I did not want to insult some of the retards at the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.)"
Upon graduation from Ryerson University Media Arts Correctional Facility, Hotz became an accomplished filmmaker/photographer and traveled all over the world. In 1991, he became the only registered Canadian artist to cover the Gulf War. "It was the most amazing thing I've ever done; I got laid 17 times by hot female foreign correspondents during the 6-week assault and didn't get herpes!" His work can currently be seen in the Provincial Archives, seven Canadian museums and Atom Egoyan's fetish dungeon.
Soon after returning to Canada, Hotz began working on an acclaimed nominated short comedic film about the life and death of a homeless, fouled-mouthed dwarf named SHORTY GORDY. Hotz then went on to write four, feature-length crappy comedy scripts and a hack episode of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES for the Fox Broadcasting Company in 1997. "Me like working for America me like money."
Later in 1997, while trying to attach a star to his script THE DAWN, Hotz came up with the idea to film the process. Shot in Hollywood and "The Toronto International Film Festival" (where they were kicked out three times - and still loathed to this day), PITCH documents the real life story of Hotz and his 2nd banana, Spencer Lice as they naively try to sell their script. "You can see more stars in PITCH than you can with the Hubble."
The film was hailed by Variety to be "the 1st American movie to ever come out of Canada," whereupon Hotz stated, "Shit, who told them it's Canadian!?!"
After finding out his ex-girlfriend was Joni Mitchell's long-lost daughter, and signing with Will Smith's production company Overbrook Entertainment, Hotz came to Los Angeles to develop television programming. Fortunately for Hotz, Spenny volunteered, if asked, to pleasure 'the Fresh Prince" for the gig. Spenny Lice then continued to ride Kenny's coattails to star in and produce KENNY VS. SPENNY - the world's 1st reality sitcom. The show has since had a 26-episode season on Canada's CBC. Even though it was a huge hit, the CBC buried it because three old ladies called and complained. The series is now airing in over 50 countries, and has sold format rights in 20 additional territories. A celebrity version will soon be airing in the U.S. KENNY VS. SPENNY was nominated for a Gemini award in 2004 and Kenny was almost nominated for an Emmy for acting like this meant something. Hotz is currently preparing the 3rd season of the series for Showcase (thank God we found Showcase), and was recently a guest with Spenny on CONAN O'BRIEN in New York. He notes that "I sat next to Conan." He is also finished his second award-winning feature film titled THE PAPAL CHASE, a documentary about Hotz (a Jew) trying to meet the Pope. The film is directed by and stars Hotz and features cameos by "The Rolling Stones" and Pope John Paul II. Hotz was given an unprecedented $10,000 prize by a jury of mega-stoners when the film won the acclaimed Borsos Award for Best Canadian Feature Film in 2004 at the Whistler Film Festival, and the "People's Choice Award" for Best Canadian Feature at the Canadian Filmmakers Festival in 2005. The PAPAL CHASE also won the Audience Award for best documentary at the Brooklyn International Film Festival. The film will be airing on CBC (okay I like them again) and IFC, and is traveling with the Canadian film circuit. Kenny is writing his third feature film in association with Films Transit International as well as his new reality show for GSN-Sony network.
Recently, Kenny was a writer/consultant on the Emmy award winning animated series SOUTH PARK (no sh*t!) with his pals Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
